Having EXTREME Fun HURTS!

This past weekend, Australians, Americans, Liasons, and Parents alike all went to Winter Park to have a fun filled weekend of snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing, tubing, making snow angels, snowball fights, and having an absolute ball!

On Friday Afternoon, Evan and I ventured to Megan's house to help her film for a simulated drunk party for an English project she was doing... May I just say that it was soooo much fun! Had the best time pretending to get drunk, falling over, raving, playing with the cat, laughing, and eating Evan in a doughnut suit. May I just say it was the best party ever :)

Friday Night, Jay, Abby, Brianna, Evan, and I all drove up after gratuitous amounts of procrastination we decided to drive up to the place where we stayed at even after the snow storm blocked off I25. We were the last to arrive, other than peggles and craig, and we played cards, had a few laughs and went to bed.

Woke up in the morning feeling quite tired and cold, i looked out the window and i saw that there was EXTREME amounts of snow.... well... from MY point of view it was extreme. After we got ready, which took long LONG time, we went to the Winter Park ski resort where we were to go on our adventure :)
Can i just say that even though i'm not the best at it, i'm pretty chill at snowboarding! Its SOOOOO much fun! after the first half of our lesson we had lunch and met up with peggles then, and then we had our best run of the day. I really want to go again before i leave :) i love snowboarding! Its harder than it looks! When we got back that afternoon my afternoon consisted of, sleeping, making fun of eric and chase, takng codral cold and flu, sleeping, showering, eating, playing the 'white elephant gift exchange' game, watching home videos (which made me cry!), youtubing stuff, and staying up til 2 a.m. :)

Sunday morning we woke up reletivly early (10 a.m.) and got dressed and ready. We said goodbye to biannca, kelly, bronte, eric, and chase, and then the Sutton/Goffer, Parker/Davey, Phalens, Longwell/Yale, Pages, and Hammer/Thorsby families all went to go tubing :)
OMG! THIS IS SOOOO FUN!!!! especially if you go down on your stomach ;) thanks haileigh for making me do that :) it was sooo much fun to slide down the giant iced hill with my friends/family/liason families :) we did some pretty epic formations (star, thousand people in a line, two people holding hands) and it was fun :P
afterwards brandon, evan and i had a) snowball fight, b) tackling fight, c) made snow angels with genetailia, d)tripped over in snow mounds :)

all i can say is it was a fun weekend :)

After Thanksgiving Break, I had an epiphany.
I only have three weeks left of an American School experience...
scary huh?

Spirit Week:
Monday: Winter Comfort Day - pretty cool, abby, evan, and I all wore our ugly christmas sweaters to school which was funsies :)
Tuesday: Stoplight day - i wore green because i have noone to ask :) but you know, being single isn't bad :) I quite like it :)
on monday and tuesday afternoon Abby and I went to the gym to be Fergalicious and work on our fitness
(I'll be up in the gym just working on my fitness he's my witness...oooh ahh... and they'll be lining down the block just to watch what i got....i'm fergalicious).. yes ok that was a lame joke!
anyways, i discovered that i have a lot of leg power... but no arm power... so i'll be going there a whole lot this week to work it up!

Wednesday: Disney Day- on tuesday night i realized that i don't have a blue dress, NOR anything that looks like any sort of disney character, so i wore a sign that said 'I am WALT DISNEY'... until some of my friends pointed out that he was a nazi and an all round ass whole... so i am no longer Walt Disney, but I wore Black and White to symbolize a creature in the background of his old school Mickey Mouse work (so yes STILL SPIRITED!) my favorite costume of the day though was a guy who dressed up as Tinkerbell... whoever he is.. he is now my idol!
wednesday after school Kelsey and I had Christmas Concert Rehersal.. I sang and sang and sang and sang and went home and slept :)

Thursday: Class Pattern Day: I wore a striped dress...because stripes were for Juniors... and I am a Junior... good day. haha, nothing special happened this afternoon. I came home and slept til 7 and when i got up it was too late to go to the gym... didn't work on my fitness :/

Friday: SPIRIT DAY! - I wore my tigers slacks, white tennis shoes (canvas), my orange tigers tank, and a white cardigan. yes.... i did go all out and write LHS on my forehead. no.... I didn't write it backwards like Karen in Mean Girls. (phew!) but yeah. good day, had fun walking around with Tia during first :)
PEP RALLY was freaking awesome... soooo cool... come on Australia, we need to have these and become cool like America, these are the best things EVER!
After the pep rally we had regular classes and after school I had choir rehersals until 5:30.. .
yeah, i am sick with a cough, and i sang.... not the best idea in the world.
After rehersals (and a long wait to get a ride home) Marlyce, Evan and I all went to meet up with Zander, Kelly, Biannca, Maddie, Brandon and others for the Golden Candlelight Walk. It was great to meet up with everyone and to meet new people!

Saturday: the Dance - ok, during the day i just kinda slept and layed around until i decided to curl my hair..
after an hour, and evan's COMPLETE saintly patience my hair was curled and styled to look pretty. afterwards i got dressed, ready, and went to dinner with Marissa, Shannon, Ryan, and Charlie.
After dinner we went to the dance, sure the setup was good and the lights were off (the ENTIRE time) but it just wasn't as fun as it could have been. it was still a good dance though :) i enjoyed dancing with Cassie, Tia, Brenden, Evan, Zander, Marissa, Ryan (for some parts), Taylor, and countless others!
I'll just have to remember, if i come back and go to a dance like that, to have a date. It just seems a whole lot funner with a date.

Sunday: rest, recooperate, homework?
today i was suppose to do homework :) but i didn't. which is what right now is suppose to be for :) i have lines to study, t.v. to watch, and i'm sure other stuff to do too.
but what did i do instead? slept, showered, picked out Christmas Tree's and a wreath, put lights on tree's, slept, shopped at the dollar store, printed out lines, slept, finished a book, and ate...
:)

I have two more weeks of school left and then about three weeks left in America after that. Which means that I will only see most of the people at the school for two weeks, and only live with the Hammers for about a month more and then no more.
Its sad to think that I've met all of these people, and I probably wont see them again.
I don't want to go home, because of the Hammer's, Lakewood High School, My Friends, People I see EVERY day, the crazy non-snowing weather, pretty much i don't want to leave in general!
I'm excited to see my Australian Friends and Family and I can't WAIT to catch up with them!
I just think about how much this experience has impacted on my life and how I wouldn't have known these people if I hadn't gone to that information night or filled out that application almost a year ago. It's scary to think that I wouldn't have met the great, amazing, lovely, fantastic people that I have if I didn't go on this adventure. And I'm soo glad that I'm here in this Amazing place with all of these crazily amazing people around me.

i love it here, i call it my home, i don't want to leave.
all of my friends i would just like to say that if you ever decide to visit me in Australia, you will have a home... (hint hint!!!)

May I just start off with saying that this Thanksgiving Break was awesome!
Lets start off with Friday:
Ok.. Black Friday was pretty awesome. Except for the fact that I woke up at 4:30 to be ready and at Shannons at 6... or so i thought we would.
I was ready to go and then Kelsey says to me.. 'Lets get the key's and go'. I asked her if she knew where the keys were and she said.. 'uhh..... no :)' so we were searching the house for like 30 minutes looking for the keys and we still couldn't find them. Shannon by this time had told us that we could wait for them at the bank so it gave us more time to get the keys.
We eventually woke up Jay to ask if we could take the pilot.. and where were the keys??

After that we followed Shannon and her mom to Flat Irons where there were barely any crowds (WIN!)
The sales, accoring to SHannon and Kelsey, weren't as good as they were last year. Throughout the three hours we were shopping (7-10) I had bought:
a sports bra
a t-shirt
a sweater
pajama pants
and some V.S.A. Perfume
so yeah. pretty much a win :)

At about 11:30 we all hit the road to go to Canon City (pronounced like canyon city) where Evan's Grandparents live.
We arrived there at about 2 p.m. and settled in and ate some Thanksgiving dinner (the second day in a row) After the dinner (which was delicious) we put our stuff in our rooms and made our way to a cute little store called 'the Ruby Slipper'. It was very cute and I scored a sweater, a beanie, and $2 leather gloves.... everyone also scored....

later that evening, Evan, Abby, Kelsey, and I all decided to go and see a movie WEARING those sweaters. It was a pretty good movie and we were turning heads in those sweaters...
not sure if it was in a good way though...=/

SATURDAY:
we woke up and went to Stanley, which is the Hammers complex in Canon City in which they're working on. It's a cute little set up but we still have a lot of work to do.
I met the neighbours and then we (and by we i mean Abby, Evan, Mom, and I) all drove to the Royal Gorge where we met up with Evan's friend Ben, we rode the rail thing across the gorge. and walked back across the bridge. It was loads of fun and I appreciate CHarissa taking us there :)
After that we went back to Stanley and stayed there a bit and then drove back to Grandma's and Grandpa's house for the night.

SUNDAY:
Today i woke EARLY because I wanted to drive the Tractor before I left.
So Abby, Jay, and I left Grandma's and Grandpa's at 9 a.m. so we could visit Maggie (someone who rents from the Hammers at the Stanley Complex) and so we could drive the tractor and lawn mower in their Stanley backyard. It was really cool! I gotta say, its a good way to practise steering, breaking, and gears. It was really fun.
After Abby had ridden the tractor (after me) for about 5 minutes the tractor ran out of gas. So Jay hooked the tractor up to the lawn mower and i towed the tractor to a ramp. After that Jay towed the tractor with the Pilot to the Garage.
It was really fun though :) I will take pictures next time and put them on Facebook :)
We drove home after that which was fun... I slept for most of it.

After we got home... Abby said the best quote of my life.
'would you like me to go to the store and buy you some manpons?'
i seriously lol'd for about five minutes.
funniest stuff :)

so yeah..... all in all I had a GREAT time and did a lot of new things :)
I love life and i have basically just one more month to go on this brilliant adventure and I wish I had more time!
Its going to be great to see my family and friends, but its going to be sad to leave the family that I have become a part of and the (hopefully) long life friends that I have made over here.

Something new...

Ok...
a week or so ago, i relised that i haven't got long left in the country.
I decided that i would TRY to do something new everyday before I leave.

So far I have:
Gone to Sonic.
Gone to the Denver Art Museum and seen the King Tut Exhibit.
Gone to the Lakewood Rec Center and worked out
Had a Thanksgiving Dinner
Went to McDonalds at 10:30 at night in the freezing cold (not really the bestest idea)
Went to a Midnight Movie Premier (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows = the shit)
and will soon:
Go Black Friday Bargain Shopping,
Go to Canyon City where Grandma and Grandpa live (American Grandparents)
and also return to school and dress up for our spirit week for the Winter Fest Dance which is a Sadie Hawkins.
The dress up days for the week are:
Monday - Winter Comfort Day
Tuesday - Stoplight Day (red = if you have a date, green = you haven't asked or haven't been asked, and yellow = if you're asking that day)
Wednesday - Disney Day (Dress up like your favorite Disney Character)
Thursday - Classy CLass Day (Seniors = Plaid, Juniors = Stripes, Sophomores = Checkers, Freshman = Solid Colors, Teachers = Argyle.)
Friday - Spirit Day
Saturday - The Dance.

all out of whack!

Ok... so after this blog i would have FINALLY have been caught up! (YAY!)
but yes... it is kinda backwards you see after the party we went to grand junction and AFTER grand junction it was halloween.
anyways....
so. The girls turned 17 on October 28th. It was a pretty chilled party. you know.... a couple of friends coming over and watching movies, eating popcorn and so on :)
THEN WE WENT TO GRAND JUNCTION

AFTER GRAND JUNCTION....
i got home...
figured out an outfit.. (daisy duke... classic) ..
went trick or treating until 8..
went to Matt's house..
ate some food..
listened to music..
sat and talked until 10:15..
it was funn! :)
pretty good halloween! :) :) :) :)

after this week we decided that it would be nice for me to have a relaxing weekend and to get caught up with work.
so i did...

THIS WEEKEND Evan had the baby :) funniest weekend of my life.
Friday Night : Biannca, Tia, Evan M, and Kelly came over and watched a few movie.... and also cut my hair.... and bangs :)
On saturday we went to the eye place and evan got new contact.
and on SUNDAY I CHILLED :) and went to a pow wow :)

so... so far my trip has been pretty bomben'
i love it and dont want to leave to be honest.
can everyone i know in australia just move over here? PLEASE!
Leaving here is going to be harder then i expected... it'll be like leaving my home.
its ok! ill come back soon
50 days to go until LA.
53 days to go until i'm on a plane back home.
its a scary thought.

Grand Junction

Ok..... the week of vegas was like inspiration for like....... THOUSANDS of road trips.
So... the Saturday AFTER vegas, Evan was cheering for the varsity football boys in Grand Junction. Charissa wanted to go and watch her cheer, so Charissa, Bernie, Abby and I all went with her.

We watched the game (the we DOMINATED!) and went to a hotel in Colorado Springs. we went out to dinner with a few of the boys that were staying the night and then we went back to the hotel.
As there was a pool and Spa there, Marissa, Evan, Abby, Bernie and I decided to go down and join Danny, Aj, Stacey (Robert), Aaron, Sam, Jordan, Keegan, and a few others (i forget the others names!) It was really fun.

After we got out of the spa and pool, we decided it would be fun to steal one of the flip flops from one of the boys. We were all running around the hotel... just being kids... and then my phone got stolen. We were all hanging out in danny's room and then i heard it ring. They threw my phone back and forth until FINALLY i got it back.

We went back up to our hotel room by 12 and Marissa and I had the most INTERESTING conversation of my life :)
SPARTAA!!!!!!

hahaha anyways we woke up the next morning and left..... end of weekend :D

Our Five Man Wolf Pack + some extra's

I got home from South Dakota and slept... I didn't go to school the next day because.......
South West trip!!!!
I packed on Tuesday during the day and Kelsey drove me over the Peggles' house by 3. We then made our way to the airport and soon we were flying into Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada.
After our troubles with getting the rental car we drove our way through the strip to our hotel.... the Excalibur :)
After putting the luggage away in the room we made our way downstairs to the pickup where the limo was suppose to be there to pick s up. we asked the limo driver if he was here for beth or peggles... he said no. All of a sudden a party limo arrives and i turned to Biannca and said
'whoever gets that limo is the coolest people in the world....i am officially jealous',
well.... who were those lucky bitches in that limo? US!!! We drove around Las Vegas looking at the strip and some back streets and it was rly rly rly cool!
After the sick as ride (named 'the big dog') we went walking down the Strip :) it was amazing! Vegas is DEFiNATELY for the night people :) We went and saw the Bellagio water fountain show. It was SOOOOOOO GOOD! i loved it :) (thanks biannca) Anyways, it was 1 a.m. and time for everyone to hit the sheets.
Fun night :)

The next morning we had a ver expensive (yet tasty) buffet, went on the New York New York Rollercoaster, saw the Lions at MGM, shopped at the M&M AND COCA COLA stores, souvenir shopping, and went to Caesars Palace where Holly and I ALMOST went up to the front desk (if only we ould find it) and said 'You may get this alot but....is this the actual caesars palace? I mean did Caesar ACTUALLY live here?' (so many hangover jokes that weekend :D)
haha. We booked it back to the hotel.....yet it started to rain when we were a quarter of the way back to the hotel :( so we ran in teh rain :)
we booked it back to the hotel, got ready, and went to Treasure Island and saw Cirque Du Soleil MYSTERE! it was soooo much fun! :) :) :)
Afterwards we walked to where the Volcano show was and watched it :) it was amazing :) :) :)

The Next Morning we drove to get breakfast and made our way to Hoover Dam :) I was sooo excited to be where Transformers were :) It was actually a little nerdish :) Anyways we drove..........and drove............and drove.......and DROVE until we finally reached the GRAND CANYON!
its amazing to see! if you haven't gone there i strongly reccomend you do :) Anyways we went to the lodge to dump our stuff, went to dinner and went to bed after making our own version of the Harry Potter Pals Mysterious Ticking Noise. hahaha love it :)

The next morning we woke up SUPER DOOPER EARLY to see the Grand Canyon at dawn.... until we realised it was foggy :/. We still went though! After breakfast we packed the mini van and drove to a different spot . we did this until we made it to our exit. It was goodbye Grand Canyon, and hello Colorado.
We arrived at the four corners only to realise that it WASN'T OPEN! i was upset by that because it was one of the things that i really really REALLY wanted to see! but thats ok! i'll get Charissa or Jay to take me there one time!
Then we made it about 25 m down the road the the (suprising not so.....) colorful Colorado sign. We tooke a BAGILLION photos and went to the hotel we were staying at.

The next day we were at Mesa Verde and we saw the Tree House things in the caves and all that and it was really fun! It was really interesting to see these houses and villages in the mountains and also the tour guide was funny and a 'freakin genius!'
Also it was beth's Birthday so that just topped of the icing on the cake! - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :)

So the last day of our trip was pretty darn fun.

SAND DUNES! which were really really really fun to roll down..... except if you kept your eyes open like britty and i :) :)

SNOW SNOW SNOW! in wolf creek pass we saw snow and took MILLIONS of Photos!
then we drove.... and drove ..... and drove.... and drove..... and drove..... and drove all the way home :)
